Owls have long captured the human imaginat ion with their silent flight\, haunting calls\, and piercing eyes. These m ysterious birds of prey are not only fascinating\, but they're an essentia l part of Illinois' natural ecosystem. In fact\, eight different owl speci es call Illinois home\, each with its own unique characteristics and behav iors. \; \;We look forward to Alyse Burman's discussion of these magnificent birds!
\nAlyse Cohen Burman \;is the owner of The Wi ldBird Shack\, Ltd. Burman has been following her passion for birds for ne arly 45 years. She introduced \;The Speakeasy \;to pass her knowle dge and enthusiasm along to others. She creates an awareness of birds\, co nservation and nature through her myriad of presentations offered at senio r communities\, libraries\, garden clubs\, schools\, community and nature centers. She currently serves as Chair of the Education Foundation Support ing the Students of Niles Township and Director for the Niles Township Foo d Pantry\, President of the Lincolnwood Chamber of Commerce and Director o f the Skokie Chamber of Commerce. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the U niversity of Illinois\; MPA from Roosevelt University and MBA from the Lak e Forest School of Management. \;
