Be among the first to receive a free copy of the recently published Water Wonderful World\, a reading and c oloring book which explores New Orleans&rsquo\; unique relationship with w ater.
\nActivities will include making a &ldquo\;Sno-ball in a Bag"\ , coloring a page from the book\, and chatting with some of the New Orlean s youth who created this book with the support of Bloomberg Philanthropies &rsquo\; Youth Climate Action Fund and the City of New Orleans. \;
\nAlso\, get to know Trinity City Comics\, an afrofuturistic c omic book\, created by teens and adults\, telling the story of three teen heroes fighting for climate justice\, community safety\, and disability ri ghts &ndash\; set in New Orleans in the year 2078. \;
\nBoth of these books are well-written\, beautifully illustrated works of art educat ing us on our connection to water. Both books were created by local youth artists\, some of whom will be at the event to personally sign personalize d copies addressed to you. \; \;
\nThe afternoon will also i nclude hands-on learning around the New Orleans water and stormwater syste ms from the Sewage and Water Board of New Orleans. SWBNO will introduce th eir \;Enviroscape®\; Watershed / Nonpoint Source Model and lead kid s of all ages through a hands-on demonstration of how pollution can affect the bodies of water surrounding New Orleans.
\nThis event is for ki ds and teens 6 - 18 years of age and their families. \;
