\n2025 marks the eightieth anniversary of the end of the Second Wor ld War\, a pivotal historical moment that continues to resonate profoundly in our global landscape. The Miami-Dade Public Library System proudly pre sents \;World War II at 80 \;- a year-long series honorin g historical milestones. Enlightening panel discussions and presentations\ , thought-provoking exhibits and book clubs\, along with other insightful events are planned throughout the year. \nAb out the Presenters:

Nico Hough\, (b. 1988) is a writer\, art consultant\, artis t\, and collector. He studied Philosophy at the University of Massachusett s. He has worked with the \;Cernuda \;Arte gallery for over six ye ars\, including three as vice director\, during which he has written more than 100 essays on Cuban art and participated in over 20 international art fairs. Since relocating to Miami in 2019\, he has collaborated with natio nal arts nonprofits such as Oolite Arts and Project Art\; published two bo oks of poetry\; contributed to the \;Exoterica \;literary anthology (Cantine Press\, Berekely\, CA\, 2025)\; given readings through out Miami\, and in Mexico City and San Francisco. He leads the \;Miami Poet Office\, a series of bilingual public poetry workshops since 2023. H is 25-minute sound composition\, \;The Book of Mangos\, was r ecently on view at the Deering Estate House Museum.
\nPa ngea Kali Virga\, \;(b.1991)\, is a fiber artist\, susta inability advocate\, lecturer\, arts event producer\, filmmaker\, and educ ator\, sharing her expertise and art with hundreds of Miamians of all ages and backgrounds. Her art is deeply rooted in social responsibility and en vironmentalism\, as she seeks to convey urgent and complex messages in way s that are both beautiful and engaging. Through layered fiber artworks\, d ramatic experiential art and performances\, free public sustainable art an d skills workshops\, and collaborative projects with public and private in stitutions\, she brings these themes to life. Pangea is a current resident artist at Oolite Arts and past resident artist at the Deering Estate\, Fo undation House\, ProjectArt\, and Peter Bullough Foundation. Her work has been exhibited at Vizcaya Museum\, MOCA\, Dot 51 Gallery\, CAMP Gallery\, Club Gallery\, and elsewhere. She has produced public arts programs at Viz caya Museum\, the Design District\, and Collins Park\, Miami Beach\, Deeri ng Estate\, and locations nationwide. \;Pangea's work has been publish ed in over 60 international publications including Harper's Bazaar and Vogue.
