DESCRIPTION:Where do we come from? What are we made of? For over a century
\, scientists have sought to answer these by uncovering the smallest build

X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Join Dr.&nbsp\;Suyog&nbsp\;Shrestha\, Assi
stant Professor of Physics at Washington College\, as we explore what scie
ntists are doing today to uncover new physics that may one day rewrite our
understanding of the universe. Through his collaborative work at CERN&rsq
uo\;s Large Hadron Collider\, including the Nobel Prize&ndash\;winning dis
covery of the Higgs boson\, we are getting closer to answering fundamental
questions about the universe. This discussion should enlighten and inspir

restha is an Assistant Professor of Physics at Washington College (Chester
town\, Maryland)\, where he leads the College&rsquo\;s involvement in the
ATLAS experiment at CERN&rsquo\;s Large Hadron Collider. His research focu
ses on Higgs boson physics\, searches for new particles beyond the Standar
d Model\, and the application of machine learning in high-energy physics.
Dr. Shrestha earned his B.A. from Grinnell College (2006)\, Ph.D. from Iow
a State University (2014)\, and spent over seven years as a postdoctoral r
esearcher at CERN before joining Washington College in 2022. In addition t
o his research\, he is deeply committed to undergraduate mentorship and ST
EM outreach - locally in Maryland and internationally in Nepal.</p>\n<p><s
