X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Join us for this year&rsquo\;s Queen City
Marathon author talk\, which delves into the hidden motivations that tempt
us to try new things and take on difficult challenges. Recent findings in
anthropology\, biology\, and neuroscience suggest that we&rsquo\;re wired
to venture off the beaten path\, whether literal or metaphorical\, in pur
suit of opportunities to learn about our own limits and about the world ar
ound us. This &ldquo\;explorer&rsquo\;s gene&rdquo\; spurs us to explore b
oth the physical world and the world of ideas&mdash\;and sends us out runn
ing.</p>\n<p>A book signing will follow the talk.</p>\n<p>Presented in par
