 rate 250 years of independence.&nbsp\;</strong></p>\n<p>In his new book\,
 "Winning the Ten Crucial Days: The Keys to Victory in George Washington&rs
 quo\;s Legendary Winter Campaign\," David Price examines this pivotal mome
 nt in the War of Independence through an interpretive framework that cente
 rs around five key factors: leadership\, geography\, weather\, artillery\,
  and contingency.</p>\n<p>His focus differs from earlier works that are la
 rgely a chronological account. The confluence of these overlapping factors
  seemingly conspired to frustrate British designs at a critical moment in
 their effort to overpower the American rebellion. Although each was import
 ant in its own right\, their aggregate influence on the course of events r
 eflected the mutually reinforcing nature of these elements. They enabled G
 eorge Washington&rsquo\;s army to win the &ldquo\;Ten Crucial Days&rdquo\;
  and propel the revolutionary cause into a lengthy war of attrition that e
 ventuated in American independence.</p>\n<p>According to the author and hi
 storian\, Edward G. Lengel\, Price has given us &ldquo\;a timely and intri
 guing reappraisal of George Washington&rsquo\;s most outstanding military
 campaign.&rdquo\; Author and historian Mark Edward Lender notes\, &ldquo\;
 the approach is novel and revealing.&rdquo\; Jack Kelly\, author of severa
 l books on the Revolution\, calls this &ldquo\;a fascinating and insightfu
 l look at a critical period of history.&rdquo\; And the prominent British
 wargames magazine<br />"Miniature Wargames"\, first published in 1983\, ob
 serves that the book &ldquo\;contains much useful information and is well
 worth reading.&rdquo\;</p>\n<p>In addition to his newest work\, Price has
 authored four other books\, including a pair about the&ldquo\;Ten Crucial
 Days&rdquo\;&mdash\;The Road to Assunpink Creek" and "Rescuing the Revolut
 ion"&mdash\;as well as "John Haslet&rsquo\;s World" and "The Battle of Har
 lem Heights\, 1776". The latter is part of the Westholme Small Battle seri
 es and was accepted into the permanent collection of the Connecticut Museu
 m of Culture and History.</p>\n<p>Price has been awarded the&nbsp\;Nationa
 l Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Bronze Good Citizenship M
 edal and Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of his work as an auth
 or\, speaker\, and historical interpreter at Washington Crossing Historic
 Park (PA) and Princeton Battlefield State Park (NJ). Since 2021\, he has w
 ritten fourteen scholarly articles for the prestigious\, peer-reviewed&nbs
 p\;Journal of the American Revolution\, three of which have been selected
 by the editorial board for inclusion in its annual hardcover volume. More
 information about the author and his work can be found at dpauthor.com.</p
