\ nThis year\, Deschutes Public Library is thrilled to host Michael Lavri ch (&ldquo\;The Train Man&rdquo\;) and his incredible train collection. Mi chael has brought his trains to the Library for over two decades. Celebrat e this time-honored tradition by creating a train-inspired tiny painting ( 6&rdquo\;x6&rdquo\; canvas) to be shown in the Downtown Bend Library displ ay case during the month of December. Join local artist Anastasia Zielinsk i as she walks us through the steps of creating our paintings. Paintings w ill be put up for display after drying\, and participants will be able to pick up their art pieces in early January.
\nAnastasia Zieli nski \;is a multidisciplinary artist and arts educator. Her p ractice centers around painting\, fiber-based collage\, and installation a rt. She received her BFA with a minor in art history from Pratt Institute (Brooklyn\, NY 2005). Ms. Zielinski has shown her work nationally and inte rnationally\, creating site-specific installations for INSCAPE arts\, Shun pike&rsquo\;s Storefront Seattle\, Spaceworks Tacoma\, and CLAVO. Recent r esidencies include Casa Lü\; and eeeee\, both located in Mexico City. She is featured in issue #40 of CREATE! Magazine. Anastasia is on e of the 2023 recipients of the Jerry Goldstein Foundation award. Ms. Ziel inski currently lives and works in Bend\, Oregon. See more of Anastasia&rs quo\;s work \;here.
