Mahjong is a \;tile-based game develop ed in the 19th century in China which has spread worldwide since the early 20th century. Four players commonly play it with 144 tiles based on Chine se characters and symbols. The game and its regional variants are widely p layed throughout \;East \;and Southeast Asia and have become popul ar in \;Western countries. We will be learning and playing the Hong Ko ng version of Mahjong.
\nIn the first hour\, we will become familiar with the tiles\, rules\, and how to set up the game. In the second hour\, we usually get through 2-3 hands\, allowing participants to practice what we have been taught.
