 trong>About the Authors</strong></span></p>\n<p><strong>Michele Evans</str
 ong> is the author of poetry collection <em>purl</em> (Finishing Line Pres
 s)\, a 2025 nominee for the Maya Angelou Book Award and <em>februaries</em
 >\, a chapbook forthcoming from Yellow Arrow Publishing in 2026. This fift
 h-generation Washingtonian (D.C.) teaches English and Creative Writing in 
 Northern Virginia and serves as the adviser of <em>Unbound</em>\, a nation
 ally recognized and award-winning high school literary magazine. Prior to 
 becoming an educator\, Michele Evans studied English Language and Literatu
 re at Smith College\, King's College-London\, and the Graduate School at t
 he University of Maryland. Her poetry has appeared in <em>Artemis Journal<
 /em>\, <em>Bellevue Literary Review</em>\, <em>Maryland Literary Review</e
 m>\, <em>Spoken Black Girl Magazine</em>\, <em>Zora's Den</em> and elsewhe
 re.</p>\n<p><strong>Samuel &ldquo\;Sami&rdquo\; Miranda</strong> is a visu
 al artist\, poet\, and teacher. He is the author of <em>Protection from Er
 asure</em>\, published by Jaded Ibis Press\, <em>Departure</em>\, a chapbo
 ok published by Central Square Press\, and <em>We Is</em>\, published by Z
 ozobra Publishing and his book <em>Rewarding the Unhurried</em> is forthco
 ming from Flowersong Press. He is currently working on collaborative proje
 cts with musicians\, visual artists and filmmakers. He has performed his p
 oetry and facilitated poetry workshops throughout the US\, St. Maarten\, M
 exico City\, Oaxaca\, and Madrid. Samuel's artwork has been exhibited inte
 rnationally in Puerto Rico and Madrid\, as well as New York and Washington
 \, DC. Sami Miranda also serves as Executive Director of the American Poet
 ry Museum.</p>\n<p><span style="color: #008080\;"><strong>About the Series
