\nBill Stanley has been with The Nature Conservancy for over 20 years\, currently serving as the state director. \; He believes that it is not only possible to have th riving economies\, rich cultural opportunities and preserved natural commu nities\, but that these are mutually supportive. \; Prior to joining T NC\, Bill directed the Global Climate Change Initiative\, where he led for est carbon science research in support of projects that help to eliminate carbon pollution and designed approaches to reduce the threats posed by se a level rise\, weather variability\, and climate change.
