This fiction writing workshop meets once a month for six months to give and receive feedback on participants' short stories. Each month\, writers receive a writing prompt and word limit. The y then email their piece to instructor Kevin P. Keating for workshopping t he following month. Kevin compiles them into one document which he emails to participants. Participants must commit to reading and critiquing up to 40 pages for each meeting. Everyone will take part in the critiques and le arn how to discuss the process of writing and rewriting fiction. \;
\nIt's important to the workshop process that we create a community of writers who know and trust each other\, so please commit to attending at least five of the six classes. Space is limited and registration is requir ed.
\nAfter working in the steel mills of Cleveland\, Ohio\, \;< strong>Kevin P. Keating \;became an instructor of English at several colleges and universities. His short stories and essays have appea red in nearly one hundred literary journals. His first novel \;The Natural Order of Things \;was a finalist for the \;Los A ngeles Times \;First Fiction Award. His second novel \;Th e Captive Condition \;was a \;Publishers Weekly \;pick of the week (starred review) and was featured at the 2015 San Diego Comic Con. He is the recipient of several literary awards\, including the Cleveland Arts Prize\, the James Thurber House Award\, and a Creative Wor kforce Fellowship. His newest novel is the speculative triptych\, \;Bridge of Dre ams.
