This special e dition of Seniors Social Club will feature a special Remembrance Day speak er. Veteran Thomas Jarmyn will share insights from his career and his fath er's career in the Canadian Armed Forces in a presentation titled &ldquo\; History&rsquo\;s Rhyme: The events of today through the lens of two career s in the Canadian Armed Forces.&rdquo\; Connect with others\, reflect\, an d take part in this meaningful conversation recognizing the service and ex periences of Canada&rsquo\;s veterans.
\nThe Memory Project is a volunteer speakers bureau that connects ve terans and active Canadian Armed Forces members with communities across th e country. Through personal stories and firsthand experiences\, speakers h elp preserve Canada&rsquo\;s military heritage and foster a deeper underst anding of our shared history.
\nThomas Jarmyn joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1979 at the age of 16 and attended the Royal Military College\, graduating in 1983. After com pleting MARS training\, he served aboard HMCS Iroquois\, Ojibwa\, Skeena\, and Cormorant. Following advanced navigation training\, he taught Navigat ing Officers and led the Blind Pilotage Trainer at Fleet School Halifax.\n
Thomas left the Regular Force in 1992 to attend law school\, contin uing his service in the Reserves at HMCS Scotian until 1997. Now a practic ing lawyer\, Thomas has worked in both litigation and commercial law and h as been involved in significant national events\, including the merger of Canada&rsquo\;s major conservative political parties and the Beyond the Bo rders Agreement with the U.S. He has chaired the Veterans Review and Appea l Board and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Royal Milit ary College Alumni Association.
