\nDoors will open at 2:00 pm and guests are invited to e njoy light refreshments and a meet-and-greet with the authors. Readings wi ll start at 2:30 pm.

\ nAbout the authors:
\nKalina Smith\, from Jonesb oro\, Arkansas\, is mostly a poet\, though she also writes fiction and cre ative nonfiction. She teaches high school English\, oral communication\, a nd creative writing\, where she spends her days nurturing young storytelle rs and navigating the emotional labor of the classroom. She is also a memb er of the Poets&rsquo\; Roundtable of Arkansas.
\nKalina earned an M FA in Creative Writing from the University of Arkansas-Monticello and duri ng the Spring of 2025\, served as the poetry editor for Shadowplay\, the s chool&rsquo\;s literary magazine.
\nAmong her publications are a rec ently released chapbook titled Scorpio Season and poems in Nebo\, The Igna tian\, FLARE: The Flagler Review\, ONE ART: A Journal of Poetry\, \;Tu lsa Review\, and SLANT\, UCA&rsquo\;s international journal of contemporar y poetry.

\nHeather Hummel is an Associate Professor of Creative Writing&nbs p\;and Director of the William G. Cooper\, Jr. Honors Program at the Unive rsity of Arkansas at Little Rock. In addition\, she serves as faculty advi sor of Equinox\, a national literary journal of undergraduate student writ ing at UALR.
\nA native of California\, Heather earned a B.A. in Eng lish from the University of California\, Davis and later an M.A. in Englis h Literature from Eastern Washington University and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing with a concentration in poetry from the \;University of South ern Maine.
\nShe is the author of the poetry collection \;Lesson s in Breathing Underwater \;(Sundress Publications\, 2020) and co-auth or of Short-Form Creative Writing: A Writers Guide and Anthology \;(Bl oomsbury Academic\, 2018). \;
\nIn 2006\, Heather co-founded&nb sp\;Blood Orange Review\, which is now part of the Washington State Univer sity editing and publishing program.
