Sometimes we have to "fight" for what we w ant\, and that leads to certain types of petition. \;Sometimes we seek government authorization for certain activities\, and that requires a dif ferent type of petition.

Petitions are a means by which one person or many or a whole community can seek to change the status quo. Much of e arly legislation in our country is a result of petitions.

The Crow n was also petitioned by individuals seeking redress to issues\, challenge s (too far to the nearest courthouse)\, taxation (the crushing level of)\, and more.
