 ription: </strong></p>\n<p>John Muir\, a young Scottish immigrant\, had no
 t yet become a famed conservationist when he first trekked into the foothi
 lls of the Sierra Nevada\, not long after the Civil War. He was so captiva
 ted by what he saw that he decided to devote his life to the glorification
  and preservation of this magnificent wilderness. <em>My First Summer in t
 he Sierra</em>\, whose heart is the diary Muir kept while tending sheep in
  Yosemite country\, enticed thousands of Americans to visit this magical p
 lace\, and resounds with Muir&rsquo\;s regard for the &ldquo\;divine\, end
 uring\, unwasteable wealth&rdquo\; of the natural world. A classic of envi
 ronmental literature\, <em>My First Summer in the Sierra</em> continues to
  inspire readers to seek out such places for themselves and make them thei

 g>Yes. A Zoom link is available by request. Please contact the library\, 4

 <strong>How do I join the Book Group? </strong>Come to an event. Everyone 
 is welcome to attend any or all of the discussions.</li>\n<li><strong>How 
 do I get a book? </strong>A limited number of books are available for grou
 p members to borrow at the library's circulation desk. No library card nec
 essary.</li>\n<li><strong>Do I have to read the book in order to come to t
 he discussion?</strong> No. Reading the book will certainly enhance your e
 xperience in the discussion and prepare you for talking points\, but all a
 re welcome no matter how much (or how little) of the book they have read.<
 /li>\n<li><strong>Can I borrow a copy to read after the discussion?</stron
 g> Yes. As group members turn in their books\, those books may be borrowed
