Each class in this series builds upon inf ormation learned in the previous class. Interested participants must register for all four (4) workshops in the series.&nbs p\;

Participants must successfully complete  \;Level Zero Sewing Basics \;and \;Sewing Fundam entals \;workshops prior to \;registering for this series. \;

For this series of workshop\, the presenter w ill provide the patterns for you to select your preferred design.

In this class\, students will learn how to:

  1. Mark and measur e fabric with confidence using rulers\, chalk\, and measuring guides
    2. \ n
  2. Cut fabric accurately using patterns and proper tools to ensure clean lines and precise shapes
    3. \n
  3. Prepare fabric or pattern pieces by pi nning and/or hand basting for a more successful construction
    4. \n
  4. Sti tch fabric pieces together using basic machine sewing techniques\, includi ng straight seams\, curves and seam finishes
    5. \n
  5. Incorporate ironing as a tool needed to perfect seams for a better overall finished product\n
  6. Understand project planning basics\, organized sewing methods\, p roper use of equipment and assembling parts step-by-step

This four-part sewing course is perfect for beginners who have some experience using a sewing ma chine\, basic sewing supplies\, tools and equipment. Through guided instru ction and hands-on practice\, participants will develop essential techniqu es that are the foundation of successful sewing projects. Such as\, a home fashion (table napkin and matching placemat set\, an envelope pillow cove r\, holiday ornament or fashion accessory (a bandana or tote bag). This cl ass will help you build the confidence and skills needed to start creating your own items. Fabrics\, patterns/templates and supplies will be provide d for Participants to use\, practice and improve their skills. If Particip ants have their own sewing supplies they are encouraged to bring them alon g. Otherwise\, sewing machines\, supplies\, tools and equipment are provid ed on-site for the series and Participants will be instructed to use these items with care and confidence.
