Artist Kandy Lopez invites participants in to an afternoon of experimentation\, creativity\, and discovery through em broidery.
\nDrawing from her experiences as an Afro-Caribbean Americ an artist\, educator\, and mentor\, Lopez understands the importance of cr eating spaces where new possibilities can emerge. This hands-on workshop e ncourages participants to move beyond perfection and embrace process\, cur iosity\, and personal expression. Using plastic canvas\, thread\, and opti onal personal imagery\, attendees will explore embroidery as a medium for storytelling\, abstraction\, and creative exploration.
\nWhether rec reating a meaningful image or following an unexpected path\, participants will be guided through an open-ended artistic process that values experime ntation as much as the finished work. No prior embroidery experience is re quired&mdash\;only a willingness to explore\, create\, and discover what b ecomes possible when we give ourselves permission to make something entire ly our own.
\nParticipants are encouraged to bring a printed image f or inspiration if they wish\, though all are welcome to create freely thro ugh color\, texture\, and form.
