Cynthia Grostick was born and raised in Lansing\, Michiga
n. She first started working on her family&rsquo\;s history in 1995 after
reviewing a publication created by a distant cousin. To improve her resear
ch skills\, Cynthia joined several local societies.
Cynthia currently
serves as vice-president for the Eaton County Genealogical Society and vo
lunteers at the Lansing Family History Center. Cynthia is a member of the
Washtenaw County Genealogical Society\, Livingston County Genealogical Soc
iety and the Michigan Genealogical Council. She is twice past president of
the Livingston County Genealogical Society\, founder and past president o
f the Stockbridge Area Genealogical / Historical Society\, and past presid
ent of the Michigan Genealogical Council where she was presented with the
Award of Merit from the Federation of Genealogical Societies for her leade
rship role during the Library of Michigan&rsquo\;s family history collecti
on crises. She also served as corresponding secretary\, webmaster\, and ne
wsletter editor for the various organizations.
