X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>This project was created with the belief t
hat diverse life experiences and perspectives enrich our schools and commu
nity. In this spirit\, The Legacy Project seeks to facilitate an understan
ding of these experiences and perspectives\, while also encouraging commun
ity reflection on diversity and inclusion\, individual and community herit
age\, legacy\, and inspiration. The stories featured in The Legacy Project
reveal experiences of brave ancestors from various spots around the globe
who paved the road for those who came after them. The intention of this p
roject is to celebrate ancestry\, encourage open dialogue\, challenge prec
onceptions\, and provide an experiential exploration of the culturally-var
ied population of our community. The aim is to ultimately help the communi
ty have a more meaningful understanding of each others&rsquo\; backgrounds
while also recognizing the common threads that knit all of us together.</
p>\n<p>The Legacy Project was created by the Diversity\, Equity\, and Incl
usion (DEI) committee at Dapplegray Elementary in Rolling Hills Estates. D
EI member Yvette D&rsquo\;Elia brought the project with her from its origi
nal incarnation at PS 10 Elementary in Brooklyn\, New York. It was origina
lly created by two parents\, Rohi Mirza Pandya and Sonja Neil\, as part of
their Diversity Committee to highlight the stories of their thriving\, mu
lticultural\, immigrant student body.</p>\n<p>The Legacy Project has now e
xtended to the entire PVPUSD with approximately five schools participating
  and it is growing.</p>\nhttps://pvld.libnet.info/event/15179550
