Winner of the Great American Jazz Piano Competition\, Gardony has been noted for his &ldquo\;fluid pianism&rdquo\; by The New York Times\, and th e legendary Dave Brubeck called him &ldquo\;a great pianist.&rdquo\; His 1 4th album\, "Close Connection&rdquo\; as well as his 2017 solo album &ldqu o\;Serious Play&rdquo\; were listed among the Best Jazz Albums of the Year by Down Beat Magazine. &ldquo\;Serious Play&rdquo\; and his 2006 live sex tet album\, &ldquo\;Life In Real Time&rdquo\; were also named one of the T en Best Jazz Albums Of The Year by the Boston Globe.
