 ocracy and human rights retreat globally&mdash\;and the U.S. pulls back&md
 ash\;how can civil society and legal norms remain effective in a divided w
 orld? What is the role and force of international law in this era of impun
 ity?</p>\n<p><strong>Facilitator: </strong>Professor Scott is a clinical p
 rofessor at the College of Law. Within the Public Interest Law Center\, sh
 e developed and directs the International Human Rights Advocacy Clinic (20
 22-present). She previously developed and directed the Farmworker and Immi
 grant Rights Clinic (2018-2021) and the COVID-19 Veterans Legal Clinic (20
 20-2021). Prior to joining the College of Law\, she served as executive di
 rector of the Legal Aid Foundation of Tallahassee\, managing all programs\
 , staff\, and development\; as program director of the FSU Center for the 
 Advancement of Human Rights\, concentrating on immigration and human traff
 icking\; as an associate with Hopping Green &amp\; Sams\, P.A.\, focusing 
 on appeals and special taxing districts\; and as a senior law clerk to the
  Honorable Robert T. Benton\, II\, of Florida&rsquo\;s First District Cour
 t of Appeal. Professor Scott graduated from FSU College of Law in 2007 wit
 h high honors\, earning a Certificate in International Law with high honor
 s and admission into Order of the Coif.</p>\n<p><strong>About Great Decisi
 ons:</strong></p>\n<p>Great Decisions is America's largest discussion prog
 ram on world affairs. The program model involves reading the Great Decisio
 ns Briefing Book (optional)\, and meeting in a discussion group to discuss
  critical global issues facing America today. Each meeting begins with a v
 ideo lecture on the discussion topic presented by Jeffrey S. Morton\, the 
 Pierrepont Comfort Chair in Political Science at Florida Atlantic Universi
 ty and a Fellow at the Foreign Policy Association and is followed by facil
 itator commentary and facilitator-led discussion.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Registrat
 ion is required for this event\, and must be completed two hours prior to 
 the start time. A library card and PIN is required for registration. If yo
