 pening page effective\, inviting\, and impossible to put down. Participant
 s will read a few great &ldquo\;first pages&rdquo\; before drafting the fi
 rst page of a writing project of their own\, whether it&rsquo\;s a novel\,
  memoir\, poetry collection\, comic\, or play.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><strong>Ab
 out the 2026 BPL Writer-in-Residence:</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Grace&nbsp\
 ;Ellis</strong>&nbsp\;is a New York Times&ndash\;bestselling\, award-winni
 ng writer of graphic novels\, plays\, prose\, and animation. She&rsquo\;s 
 best known as the co-creator of the comics&nbsp\;Lumberjanes\,&nbsp\;Moons
 truck\, and&nbsp\;Flung Out of Space\, along with her extensive work for&n
 bsp\;DC Comics. Her writing is noted for its humor\, heart\, and character
 -driven storytelling.</p>\n<p>Outside of publishing\,&nbsp\;Grace&nbsp\;is
  an active member of the Columbus arts community. She founded and curates 
 Columbus Stage Times\, a comprehensive weekly calendar spotlighting more t
 han 150 Central Ohio theater companies\, and she serves on the education b
 oard of Cartoon Crossroads Columbus.</p>\n<p>Grace&nbsp\;loves helping wri
 ters discover their creative voice across any medium\, genre or ability le
 vel. She has a particular passion for demystifying storytelling and helpin
 g writers (i.e. you) feel confident on the page. When she's not writing\, 
 she can be found watching women's hockey or going for a lil walk.</p>\n<p>
 <em>The 2026 BPL Writer-in-Residence program is made possible in part by a
 n investment of public funds from the Ohio Arts Council (OAC). The OAC is 
 a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengt
 hen Ohio communities culturally\, educationally\, and economically.</em></

 <p>While the library's main entrance is under construction\, we remain ope
 n. Clear signage will guide visitors to a temporary\, fully accessible ent
 rance via a ramp in the southeast alley\, leading to the dock entrance.</p
 >\n<p>The library&nbsp\;parking&nbsp\;lot also remains open\, with tempora
 ry entry and exit available via&nbsp\;Euclaire Avenue only.&nbsp\;Parking&
 nbsp\;may be limited\, so we encourage you to arrive early and use street&
 nbsp\;parking&nbsp\;on Euclaire\, Mound\, and other nearby streets.</p>\n<
