 scriptwriting\, from what a script looks like\, the tools and power of wri
 ting for audio/visual media\, and what makes dialogue click. We'll read sa
 mples from a variety of scripts\, experiment with different techniques\, a
 nd then draft mini-scripts of our own. Perfect for beginners or writers cu
 rious about a new form.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><strong>About the 2026 BPL Writer
 -in-Residence:</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Grace Ellis</strong>&nbsp\;is a Ne
 w York Times&ndash\;bestselling\, award-winning writer of graphic novels\,
  plays\, prose\, and animation. She&rsquo\;s best known as the co-creator 
 of the comics&nbsp\;Lumberjanes\,&nbsp\;Moonstruck\, and&nbsp\;Flung Out o
 f Space\, along with her extensive work for&nbsp\;DC Comics. Her writing i
 s noted for its humor\, heart\, and character-driven storytelling.</p>\n<p
 >Outside of publishing\,&nbsp\;Grace&nbsp\;is an active member of the Colu
 mbus arts community. She founded and curates Columbus Stage Times\, a comp
 rehensive weekly calendar spotlighting more than 150 Central Ohio theater 
 companies\, and she serves on the education board of Cartoon Crossroads Co
 lumbus.</p>\n<p>Grace&nbsp\;loves helping writers discover their creative 
 voice across any medium\, genre or ability level. She has a particular pas
 sion for demystifying storytelling and helping writers (i.e. you) feel con
 fident on the page. When she's not writing\, she can be found watching wom
 en's hockey or going for a lil walk.</p>\n<p><em>The 2026 BPL Writer-in-Re
 sidence program is made possible in part by an investment of public funds 
 from the Ohio Arts Council (OAC). The OAC is a state agency that funds and
  supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities cultural
 ly\, educationally\, and economically.</em></p>\n<p><strong>Library Parkin
 g &amp\; Entrance Information:</strong></p>\n<p>While the library's main e
 ntrance is under construction\, we remain open. Clear signage will guide v
 isitors to a temporary\, fully accessible entrance via a ramp in the south
 east alley\, leading to the dock entrance.</p>\n<p>The library&nbsp\;parki
 ng&nbsp\;lot also remains open\, with temporary entry and exit available v
 ia&nbsp\;Euclaire Avenue only.&nbsp\;Parking&nbsp\;may be limited\, so we 
 encourage you to arrive early and use street&nbsp\;parking&nbsp\;on Euclai
