The new year is here! This season is keepi ng birds quiet and tempting us indoors\, but there's still a way to share a passion for birding and nature. We&rsquo\;re partnering with the Feminis t Bird Club DMV and invite you to join us for their next meet-up playing W ingspan\, the fun board game about birds created by local game designer El izabeth Hargrave. Join us to play birders seeking to attract the best bird s to our network of wildlife preserves. Each habitat in the game is associ ated with an action (gaining food\, laying eggs\, drawing cards). Each bir d that you play makes you better at those actions\, triggering its own pow er each time you use its habitat.
\nWingspan beginners are welcome! No prior experience required\, but we do recommend watching a YouTube clip before attending to get a sense of the game. If you own a copy of the gam e and want to bring it\, that would be great! More games mean we can have more players\, so please let us know here: adultservices.dcpl@dc.gov.
\nWe&rsquo\;re meeting on Saturday\, January 24th from 1pm to 4pm at the Martin Luther King\, Jr. M emorial Library\, Room 401-G. You can find it in the Conference Center of the 4th floor. \;
\nWe ask that everyone participating wear a ma sk so that those who are immunocompromised in our community can attend. If you need a mask\, we will have extras.
