Everyone should have an opportunity to lea rn about computer science! Coding for fun is an introduction to computer s cience and uses self-led tutorials over the course of one hour. The goal o f the "Hour of Code" tutorials is not to teach everyone to become an exper t in computer science\, but allows everyone to have fun\, improve problem solving skills\, logic\, reading for understanding\, and to be creative. T his builds a great foundation for learning computer languages and how to w rite a code for younger ages. In this session of Coding for Fun\, we will be making a game to help our favorite Star Wars characters complete their missions using blockly coding. Program is limited to 10 participants. \;
\nThis program was designed for 2nd grade and up\, but younger ch ildren may attend if an adult/guardian/caregiver is present to assist them throughout the program. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending th e program must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregi ver while in the Studio. Most ACPL programs welcome guests\, however the S tudio programs can only accommodate registered patrons and their supervisi ng caregivers. \; \;
