X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Matrix planting is naturalistic gardening
in its purest form. The word &ldquo\;matrix&rdquo\; refers to a landscape
design model in which perennials and grasses are used to imitate meadows\,
designing plant layers that work together\, not in isolation. It&rsquo\;s
been the hottest professional design trend over the past few years\, but
it hasn&rsquo\;t gained much traction among home gardeners. Why? Maybe peo
ple don&rsquo\;t know where to start. This presentation provides a startin
g point.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Deborah Chud is a retired Massachusetts physician
turned garden maker\, consultant\, and educator\, who specializes in coach
ing home gardeners. Her years of research on the world&rsquo\;s most famou
s New Perennial gardens (including New York&rsquo\;s High Line\, Chicago&r
squo\;s Lurie Garden\, the Oudolf Meadow at Delaware Botanic Garden\, and
Oudolf Garden Detroit) have generated a unique database of New Perennial p
lant combinations and fostered the creation of her own highly unusual New
 Perennial garden. Deborah&rsquo\;s garden has become a &ldquo\;must see&rd
quo\; for MA garden clubs &amp\; green organizations as well as a source o
f data for a study of pollinator activity by Professor Richard Primack of
Boston University.</p>\n<p>This program will be recorded. All registrants
will receive the recording via email within 48 hours of the program.</p>\n
<p>This program is in partnership with the Groton Public Library and funde
d in part by the Friends of Memorial Hall Library.&nbsp\;</p>\nhttps://mhl
