  decided to keep a record for a full year of the growing&nbsp\;impacts of 
 climate change on his one urban block right on the border with Washington\
 , DC.&nbsp\;Written as a love letter to the magnificent oaks and other tre
 es dying from record heat waves&nbsp\;and bizarre rain\, Tidwell&rsquo\;s 
 story depicts the neighborhood&rsquo\;s battle to save the trees and comba
 t&nbsp\;climate change.</p>\n<p>In this talk\, Tidwell shares their story&
 mdash\;along with his personal journey into the ethical and scientific que
 stions surrounding geoengineering as a potential last resort to protect th
 e world&rsquo\;s forests. His book\, <em>The Lost Trees of Willow Avenue</
 em>\, serves as both a love letter to the oaks that inspired him and a cal
 l to action amid the growing crisis of heat\, drought\, and disappearing g
 reen canopies.</p>\n<p><strong>Mike Tidwell</strong>&nbsp\;is a writer and
  climate change activist. His previous six books include&nbsp\;<em>Bayou&n
 bsp\;Farewell&nbsp\;</em>about the disappearing wetlands and Cajun culture
  in south Louisiana. As a&nbsp\;contributing travel writer for&nbsp\;The W
 ashington Post\, Tidwell has won four Lowell Thomas&nbsp\;Awards\, the hig
 hest prize in American travel journalism. In 2002 he founded the Chesapeak
 e&nbsp\;Climate Action Network and still serves as executive director\, wh
 ere he has led local\, state\, and&nbsp\;national campaigns for clean ener
 gy.</p>\n<p>This program is presented in partnership with Rooted In Bexley

 entrance is under construction\, we remain open. Clear signage will guide 
 visitors to a temporary\, fully accessible entrance via a ramp in the sout
 heast alley\, leading to the dock entrance.</p>\n<p>The library&nbsp\;park
 ing&nbsp\;lot also remains open\, with temporary entry and exit available 
 via&nbsp\;Euclaire Avenue only.&nbsp\;Parking&nbsp\;may be limited\, so we
  encourage you to arrive early and use street&nbsp\;parking&nbsp\;on Eucla
