  vital records\, and share best practices on how to begin genealogical res

  your living room!</p>\n<p>Emma Holmes is the Assistant Reference Archivis
 t for the Rhode Island State Archives\, working with researchers from Rhod
 e Island and around the world to access records. She has been working in p
 rofessional genealogy\, archives\, and library settings for almost six yea
 rs\, assisting people who are researching their family\, learning more abo
 ut history and record collections. She enjoys hearing about people&rsquo\;
 s stories and helping people to connect their stories with history.</p>\n<
 p>Ashley Selima serves as State Archivist for Rhode Island and works with 
 stakeholders throughout the state to ensure proper care and management of 
 public records. She is passionate about universal access to information an
 d positive user experience in discovery of historic collections. She leads
  the State Archives Division in planning\, coordinating\, and connecting w
 ith the community through public events\, assistance\, and outreach. She a
 lso enjoys hiking the many unique and beautiful spots in the &ldquo\;bigge
 st little state&rdquo\;\, board games\, and hobby baking.</p>\n<p></p>\n<h
