DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by author and teacher Rick Holinger\, this worksho
p welcomes writers of all abilities and genres. This month's topic: Who am
  I?.\nhttps://geneva.libnet.info/event/15552344
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Discussion topic this month: Today\, there
is a debate over whether authors have the ability&mdash\;or the right&mda
sh\;to assume they can or should write about a character other than their
 own gender\, age\, race\, background\, etc. We&rsquo\;ll discuss the best
examples from the past (Madame Bovary\, The Scarlet Letter\, etc.) and sha
re our own experiences with writing characters with backgrounds unlike our
own.</p>\n<p>The Night Writers Workshop discusses various topics within w
riting and provides a welcoming environment for peer feedback. The program
is organized into two sections: critique of submitted manuscripts and dis
cussion of writing topics. For more information on submitting a manuscript
