Fayetteville-based photographer Andrew Kil
gore created personal portraits of members of society who were often overl
ooked. His advocacy photography connects the viewer to the subject\, pavin
g the way for a better understanding of their circumstances and need to be
recognized. The Q&\;A session following the film will be moderated by
FPL's Director of Communications\, Randy Wilburn. \;

Kilgore started taking pictures in 1968
\, and opened his first studio in Fayetteville in 1971. Throughout the 197
0s he taught photography in the art department at the University of Arkans
as\, before moving to Little Rock in 1981\, where he worked on larger phot
ography exhibits and projects. \; In 1986\, as part of Arkansas&rsquo\
; sesquicentennial celebration\, Andrew spent the year taking photographs
of all the different people who live and work throughout Arkansas\, which
became the book Arkansas People. \;In 1990 Kilgore returned t
o Fayetteville\, making it his permanent home.
