 and ART! Are words more effective in storytelling or is art the stronger c
 ompetitor? They&rsquo\;ll make arguments for both and invite participants 
 to help them decide which one is the true champion.</p>\n<p>Throughout thi
 s hot debate\, participants will collaborate with Varner and Wilson using 
 writing prompts and live drawing to craft a complete story from beginning 
 to end. Who will take home the trophy? Take part in&nbsp\;this engaging an
 d interactive presentation to find out!</p>\n<p>Participants will leave wi
 th an understanding of story essentials and the confidence to both write a
 nd illustrate stories of their very own.</p>\n<p>This event is designed fo
 r youth in grades K-6\, but everyone is welcome to enjoy the presentation!

 ristin Varner</a>&nbsp\;is an award-winning author\, illustrator\, and gra
 phic novelist based in the Pacific Northwest. Kristin received her degree 
 in illustration from Rhode Island School of Design and has created art for
  children's books\, games\, apparel\, and toys. Her two middle grade novel
 s\,&nbsp\;<a href="https://catalog.nols.org/Record/900074?searchId=1106448
 9&amp\;recordIndex=1&amp\;page=1&amp\;referred=resultIndex" target="_blank
 " rel="noopener" title="Horse Trouble"><em>Horse Trouble</em></a>&nbsp\;(2
