We are celeb rating Black History Month and Lunar New Year this February and both of th ese celebrations allows us to reflect on race\, culture and exploring Blac k and Asian solidarity.

Poet Wendy M. Thompson will read poems abo ut her Chinese heritage as well as discuss James Baldwin's essay 'If Black English Isn't a Language\, Then Tell Me\, What Is?'.

Participants will be led through writing exercises that will draw and discuss the  \;parallels between language\, race\, belonging\, and otherness \;

\n

This workshop will encourage participants to \;write about their relationship to language\, identity\, and voice. \;

\n
