Dream Music explores the many shades of lo ve through a dreamy\, intimate sound world. Featuring art songs by Brahms\ , Duparc\, Debussy\, Tosti\, and Hoiby\, this program weaves together long ing\, passion\, tenderness\, and introspection. Through the expressive par tnership of soprano Ruijing Guo and pianist Doug Han\, this recital invite s listeners into an atmosphere where emotion and imagination blur\, and lo ve is experienced as memory\, desire\, and dream.
\nRuijing Guo is a soprano from Liaoning\, China. She holds a bachelor&rsquo\;s in vocal per formance from the Boston Conservatory (2022) and a master&rsquo\;s from Lo ngy School of Music (2024). Ruijing is currently pursuing a DMA at Rutgers University\, studying with Dawn Shicoff. She has performed recitals in Bo ston\, Cambridge\, and Anshan\, China\, and has portrayed roles such as Gi ulietta in Les Contes d&rsquo\;Hoffmann\, the Dew Fairy in Ha nsel und Gretel\, and Lucinda in Dark Sisters.
\nPiani st and vocal coach Doug Han has worked with opera singers ranging from Gra mmy Award winners to undergraduate conservatory candidates. A native son o f Central New Jersey\, his international career has ranged from the US to Italy\, Germany\, South Africa\, and Canada. Passionate about encouraging the upcoming generation of classical vocal talent\, he serves on staff at Rutgers University\, Manhattan School of Music (MSM)\, and Bard College Co nservatory of Music\, in addition to assisting Maestro Neil Shicoff in his private studio work.
