This year\, the Mt. Pleasant Library is ce lebrating Black History Month through SNEAKERS -- specifically\, the histo ric Black athletes and designers who have changed the world through their talent\, effort\, and shoes. \;We are partnering with journalist\, UMD Professor\, and founder of Sneak er Theory PROFESSOR J to learn about how a single shoe can reveal so m uch about Black History\, American culture\, and economics. \;

On Wednesday\, February 18th join us on the second floor Children's Room to learn about how JESSE OWENS and the 1936 Berlin Olympics forever change d both track &\; field and the sneaker market.
