 ng where <em>The Elements of Style</em> leaves off\, <em>Good Writing</em>
  can improve your book\, your essay\, your memo\, your blog post\, speech\
 , or script. These essential rules for persuasive language work on any typ
 e of writing\, and anyone can learn them quickly.</p>\n<p>Neal Allen is a 
 writer\, spiritual coach\, and speaker. He is the author of <em>Shapes of 
 Truth</em> and <em>Better Days</em>. A former journalist and corporate exe
 cutive\, he holds master&rsquo\;s degrees in political science and Eastern
  classics.</p>\n<p>Anne Lamott is the author of seven novels\, <em>Hard La
 ughter\, Rosie\, Joe Jones\, Blue Shoe\, All New People\, Crooked Little H
 eart\,</em> and <em>Imperfect Birds</em>. She has also written several bes
 t&shy\;selling books of nonfiction\, including <em>Operating Instructions\
 ,</em> an account of life as a single mother during her son&rsquo\;s first
  year\; <em>Some Assembly Required:A Journal of My Son&rsquo\;s First Son<
 /em>\; and the classic book on writing\, <em>Bird by Bird: Some Instructio
