WML's Parent Book Club is wrapping up our current read: The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt on February 11. We are now bringing in internet safety professional\, Katie Greer\, to give pract ical tips and information on how to keep you and your family safe online.< /p>\n
Katie Greer\, as the Director of Internet Safety\, was directly in volved with the development of one of the first internet safety programs. From there\, she transitioned into working with the Massachusetts State Po lice as an Intelligence Analyst. Greer has been a keynote speaker on USA T oday\, TIME Magazine\, Good Housekeeping\, Parents Magazine\, the Meredith Vieira Show\, the O'Reilly Factor\, CNN\, Inside Edition and more. She's also a contributor to ModernMom and an advisory board member on the Intern et Keep Safe Coalition. \;
\nShe has helped shaped the minds and policies of hundreds of thousands of students\, parents\, and people acro ss North America and has spoken at schools and universities big and small. She's advised governments agencies and global corporations as they develo p their own policies. Greer says\, "Now pursuing my Ph.D in Criminology wi th an exploration on teens and the internet\, I'm determined to push our l opsided relationship with technology to one of balance. I recognize that m y message could positively shape someone's life outlook\, and it's a respo nsibility I take seriously. I want every household in America to have the education and tools to manage technology in healthy way."
