 \;Must be age 21+</strong></p>\n<p>Imagine you&rsquo\;re a miner during th
e Klondike Gold Rush of the late 19th century. After a long day&rsquo\;s w
ork\, it&rsquo\;s time to head back to camp for chow at the saloon. In thi
 s class\, you&rsquo\;ll learn how to prepare a hearty\, one-pot Potato and
Leek Chowder using Yukon Gold potatoes\, along with bannock\, a simple fr
y bread and staple of the time.</p>\n<p>We&rsquo\;ll also imagine we&rsquo
\;ve had a day worth celebrating and sip on a Champagne cocktail\, just as
Dawson City revelers once did. A non-alcoholic option will be available w
ith advance notice.</p>\n<p>Please note\, we are unable to offer vegan or
 vegetarian modifications to this recipe.</p>\n<p>Allergens - wheat/gluten<
/p>\n<p><b>About the Instructor:</b></p>\n<p>Mary McGuire is the Store Man
ager at Arome. She was born and raised near Lodi\, CA and spent the first
16 years of her life working in health insurance. She has always had a pas
sion for cooking and baking (especially fresh pasta and cheesecakes!)\, an
d two years ago decided it was time for a big change and moved to Redmond.
She instantly fell in love with the culture and people\, especially the s
pring and summer when the farmer&rsquo\;s markets and product stands are o
pen. When Mary isn&rsquo\;t at Arome\, she is usually home trying out new
recipes or hanging out with her tiny dog\, Paige.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>
 <strong></strong></p>\n<p><strong></strong></p>\n<p><strong>2026 A Novel I
dea Book Selection:</strong><br /><em>Supersonic</em>&nbsp\;charts the ris
e of a boomtown city in the American West where ambition outpaces memory.
In the present day\, PTA president Sami Hasegawa-Stalworth is determined t
o rename her daughter&rsquo\;s elementary school after her late grandmothe
r&mdash\;a beloved music teacher and Japanese internment survivor. What be
gins as a symbolic family gesture spirals into a kaleidoscopic\, multi-gen
erational story of struggle&mdash\;for and against change\, and over who g
ets to define the future.&nbsp\;<br />&nbsp\;<br />Through interwoven live
 s&mdash\;an opioid-addicted 19th-century conman\, a disgraced Navy seaman
building a jet that will fly faster than sound\, a stay-at-home dad turned
weed entrepreneur\, and a family haunted by the ghosts of progress&mdash\
;<em>Supersonic</em> reveals how each era tries to remake the same ground
beneath its feet. At once intimate and panoramic\, the story channels the
restless energy that propels the West.&nbsp\;<br />&nbsp\;<br /><strong>Ab
out the Author:</strong><br />Thomas&nbsp\;Kohnstamm&nbsp\;was born and ra
ised in Seattle. He still lives in the same house he grew up in&mdash\;now
with his wife and two children.&nbsp\;A freelance writer for over twenty
 years\,&nbsp\;he&rsquo\;s&nbsp\;been a Spanish &amp\; Portuguese translato
r\, travel writer\, video &amp\; animation producer and has covered subjec
ts ranging from rainforest conservation to quantum computing to backcountr
 y skiing.&nbsp\;<em>Supersonic</em>&nbsp\;is his third book.&nbsp\;</p>\n<
