  green industry for more than 25 years in numerous facets from public to p
 rivate. She currently balances a busy freelance horticultural writing and 
 teaching schedule with her role as email marketing manager for The Garden 
 of Words. She is a trained horticulturist specializing in trees\, shrubs\,
  and natives with a passion for connecting people with plants.&nbsp\;</p>\
 n<p>Her freelance writing has included The Landscape Contractor (now Lands
 cape Illinois) magazine\, American Gardener magazine\, Chicagoland Gardeni
 ng magazine\, and numerous newspaper articles\, blog posts\, magazines\, n
 ewsletters\, and more. Heather also relishes sharing her knowledge and exp
 erience by teaching at The Morton Arboretum\, Chicago Botanic Garden\, Olb
 rich Botanical Gardens\, and Edith Farnsworth House as well as garden club
 s\, groups\, and industry gatherings.</p>\n<p>This program is in partnersh
