 strong>About the Presenter:</strong> Surrogate Heather J. Darling\, Esq.\,
  was elected Morris County Surrogate in 2019 and reelected in 2024\, and i
 s now serving her second term. She earned a bachelor&rsquo\;s degree in Fi
 nance and International Business from New York University and a Juris Doct
 or from Seton Hall School of Law.&nbsp\; Heather opened her own law practi
 ce in 2004\, serving Morris County for more than 19 years in family law\, 
 wills\, trusts and estates\, business\, and criminal law. She is a member 
 of the New Jersey\, New York\, and Morris County Bar Associations and cont
 inues to operate her family&rsquo\;s real estate business.&nbsp\; A former
  Morris County Freeholder and Deputy of the Board\, Heather became the cou
 nty&rsquo\;s first woman Surrogate in January 2020. She has led major impr
 ovements to the Surrogate&rsquo\;s Office\, including creating a virtual p
 robate filing system to better serve seniors and residents with mobility c
 hallenges&mdash\;an innovation that became essential during the COVID-19 p
 andemic. She has also been a leading advocate for electronic wills and ele
 ctronic signatures on qualifying probate documents in New Jersey.&nbsp\; H
 eather hosts the talk show Have You Heard with Heather Darling and is a gr
 aduate of the Professional Development Academy for High Performance Leader
 s. She has held leadership roles with the Constitutional Officers Associat
 ion of New Jersey and serves on the Employment Horizons Community Advisory
  Board and as an Ambassador for the Morris County 200 Club.&nbsp\; A lifel
 ong Roxbury resident\, Heather is dedicated to community service and advoc
 acy for individuals with special needs\, seniors\, and others who cannot r
