 ading Month!</strong> Kick off a month of events with this 2 hour program\
 , Dare to Dream: A Poetry Workshop with spoken word artist and poet Regie 
 Cabico.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>During the first part of the program\, Mr. Cabico w
 ill present his own works and the poetry of Langston Hughes. He will then 
 guide participants in writing their own "I Am" poems.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>In th
 e second part of the workshop\, kids will break out into a separate space 
 for a creative activity about identity and self-expression\, while teens a
 nd adults will stay in the room to have an open mic facilitated by Mr. Cab
 ico in a positive\, nurturing space.&nbsp\;We encourage teens and adults t
 o choose a short excerpt from a book in advance to read during the open mi
 c portion or share their own poetry they wrote during the workshop. The ex
 cerpt should be something that represents the reader's identity in some wa
 y.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>For ages 10-110!</strong></p>\n<p>Regie Cabico&n
 bsp\;is a spoken word pioneer\, having won The Nuyorican Poets Cafe Grand 
 Slam and later taking top&nbsp\;prizes in three National Poetry Slams. He 
 is an NYU Asian Pacific American Studies Artist In Residence.&nbsp\;Televi
 sion credits include 2 episodes of The Poet Speaks\, HBO's&nbsp\;Def Poetr
 y Jam\, NPR's&nbsp\;Snap Judgement&nbsp\;&amp\; MTV's Free Your&nbsp\;Mind
 \, and TEDx. His work appears in over 30 anthologies\, including&nbsp\;<em
 >Aloud: Voices from the Nuyorican Poets&nbsp\;Caf&eacute\;\, Spoken Word R
 evolution</em>&nbsp\;and <em>The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry</em>.&nbs
 p\;Mr.&nbsp\;Cabico&nbsp\;received the 2006 Writers&nbsp\;for Writers Awar
 d from Poets &amp\; Writers for his youth writing workshops at Bellevue Ho
 spital.&nbsp\;He is the author of&nbsp\;<em>A Rabbit In Search of a Rolex&
