X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Abigail Richardson-Schulte\, HPO Composer-
in-Residence\, presents a fascinating look into the lives and music of com
posers featured on the HPO stage.</p>\n<p>In this talk\, Richardson-Schult
 e discusses the &ldquo\;two Bs&rdquo\; of the world&rsquo\;s most famous c
omposers\, Beethoven and Brahms\, who found their way to Vienna seventy ye
ars apart. Beethoven composed in the Classical era\, while Brahms composed
in the Romantic era. Their paths couldn&rsquo\;t have been more different
\, though they were both legendary pianists.</p>\n<p>Beethoven performed h
is way through royal living rooms to build his network and career\, though
butted heads with Royals along the way. The unknown Brahms was thrown int
o the limelight by being "discovered\," but made a mistake by taking on th
e musical celebrity of the day\, Franz Liszt. Following their own paths\,
not trends of the day\, led both Beethoven and Brahms to become pinnacles
of their eras of music.</p>\n<p>Starting at noon on March 18\, you can als
