For more than a century fire lookouts have been an important tool to spot and report wildfires. Many of those lookou ts are long-gone\, but some that remain make for great hiking destinations . In this one-hour presentation Cheryl Hill will talk about her new book < em>Hiking Oregon&rsquo\;s Fire Lookouts\, highlight some of the best lookout hikes around the state\, share some stories from her quest to visi t every standing lookout in the state\, and talk about how to rent a looko ut. Oregon native Cheryl Hill is an author\, photographer\, and lookout enthusiast. She works as a librarian in a public library and in h er free time she enjoys volunteering\, hiking\, backpacking\, camping\, an d working towards her goal of visiting every standing lookout in Oregon.
