Location research allows genealogists to l earn the details surrounding their family\, helping to give context and un derstanding to their lives. This program will look at location research ac ross time\, learning what to do when you recognize the place and especiall y when you don&rsquo\;t! All levels.
\nLaura Kovarik has been involv ed in genealogy for more than thirty years. Her experience includes leader ship\, educational\, and committee positions with societies at the interna tional\, state\, and local levels. Laura has been providing educational op portunities for genealogists for over twenty years. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG)\, the National Genealogica l Society (NGS)\, Illinois State Genealogical Society (ISGS)\, the Norwegi an American Genealogical Center\, and other local genealogical and histori cal societies. She currently serves on the Long-Range Planning and Members hip Committees for APG. She is a former President of ISGS and the Fox Vall ey Genealogical Society. Her writing has appeared in Fox Tales\, The Quart erly\, and Norwegian Tracks.
\nAs a professional genealogist\, Laura has presented webinars and workshops for libraries and societies\, includ ing the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy. Areas of concentration include N orwegian research and newspapers. Laura also assists with organizing and d igitizing family archives. Laura has authored several books and articles u sing material from her family archive.
