Please join us for an engaging discussion with the artist\, Tram Colwin of the exhibit\, What We Carry alon g with selected refugee participants and a representative from Canopy NWA\ , in a moderated Q&\;A session. What We Carry is a collection of watercolor still-life paintings of items that local immigrants and refu gees carried with them on their journey to America. \; The discussion will explore the inspiration behind the artworks\, the collaboration proce ss\, and the stories of resilience and hope shared by the refugees. The Q& amp\;A session will begin with a series of prepared questions directed at the artist\, selected refugee participants\, and a representative from Can opy NWA. For the second half of the session\, the panelists will respond t o questions from the audience. \;
\nAbout the Ar tist\, Tram Colwin:
\nTram Colwin is a Vietnamese American watercolor artist based in Northwest Arkansas. Her work explores the intri cacies and symbolism of the world around us. Focusing on details and symbo lism\, her aim is to tell a story of community\, the world around us\, and her personal belief in Divine design.
\nA graduate of Oklahoma Bapt ist University with a BA in Fine Arts\, Tram was named Outstanding Senior Artist and has since received the 2023 Artists 360 Community Activator Gra nt\, the 2025 ACNMWA Artist Award\, and the Arkansas Arts Council&rsquo\;s Individual Artist Fellowship. In Spring 2025\, she served as a Visiting A rtist at the University of Arkansas School of Art. Her work has been exhib ited across the region\, including at The Medium and Crystal Bridges Museu m of American Art\, and featured in FLUX Hawaii and At Home Arkansas. Tram is also the co-founder of Women of the Ozarks\, a nonprofit collective sp otlighting female artist across the Arkansas Ozark Mountains.
\nWhen she&rsquo\;s not in her studio\, Tram enjoys spending time with her husba nd\, their dogs\, and her family and friends\, as well as exploring foodie places and the outdoors.
