the United States&rsquo\; Declaration of Independence\, \;MPL \;an
d Arts at Large \;invite you to learn \;and \;join \;in&nb
sp\;the creation of a &ldquo\;Community Quilt&rdquo\; \;that reflects
the unique voices that \;together \;tell the story of \;Americ
a. \;Facilitated by \;local Milwaukee artist \;Iris Acevedo\,&
nbsp\;participants will reflect \;together on \;the ways Americans
have used \;fiber arts \;to express their \;voice \;throu
ghout history \;and \;work to make their own &ldquo\;Community&nbs
p\;Quilt&rdquo\; \;square \;that reflects the \;American \
;story \;they want to be remembered \;by future generations. \

This event is part of MPL&rsquo\;s Civic Season
. \;To mark the 250th \;anniversary of America&rsquo\;s founding\,
the Milwaukee Public Library will host \;a \;&ldquo\;Civic Season
&rdquo\; \;from Juneteenth through Independence Day. This series \
;is \;designed to help participants to think critically about \;th
e complexities of \;our collective past \;and \;present \;
and \;imagine expansively about what \;we&rsquo\;d \;like the
next 250 years to hold \;for our community. \;

ticipants are welcome to \;bring \;scraps of fabric with personal
meaning for use in a Community Quilt that will live at Milwaukee Public Li
brary.
