 ou ever wanted to learn more about the local plants that surround us? Join
  us as we walk to a local park to find and discuss the amazing plant life 
 that grows here. Our guide Deanna will begin the session by introducing he
 rself in her ancestral language and speak to land stewardship and our resp
 onsibility to &ldquo\;walk slowly&rdquo\; on this land. She will then lead
  the plant walk highlighting the local native\, medicinal and edible plant
 s that are found in the area.</p>\n<p>We will be meeting in room 127 at th
 e City Centre branch library\, and then walking to Glen Park. This is a 5-
 10 minute walk on flat\, paved sidewalks. The park section will be unpaved
 \, but still flat\, with no elevation gain or difficult terrain. No seatin
 g available. This is an outside program\, prepare for weather\, this progr

 >Deanna Miller is from Katzie First Nation and was born and raised on Katz
 ie ancestral land in the Langley territory. &scaron\;xÊ·ne:m is a word i
 n the hÉ™nÌ“qÌ“É™minÌ“É™mÌ“ language that means heale
 r.<br />In an effort to return to the ways of her ancestors\, she makes me
 dicines from plants she harvests from her land. All products are handmade 
 in small batches with intention\, love and<br />respect. She enjoys all op
 portunities to share this ancestral knowledge through workshops and plant
