Join the Wichita Public Library and the Fr iends of the Library for an evening with author Pete Davis\, whose viral H arvard Law School speech and book Dedicated: The Case for Commitment in an Age of Infinite Browsing sparked a national conversation about commitment \, participation\, and community. Davis argues that modern culture often e ncourages us to keep our options open&mdash\;constantly browsing for the n ext opportunity&mdash\;rather than choosing something meaningful and stick ing with it.
\nPete will be joined by Wichitans Danielle and Brandon Johnson for a conversation about what commitment looks like in practice. Together they will explore how long-term dedication strengthens organizati ons\, builds trust\, and helps communities thrive.
\nDuring the even t\, the Library will also launch its new Civic Action Passport\, an initia tive designed to encourage people across Wichita to participate in communi ty life through simple\, meaningful actions.
