 ert\, Dick Jung\, on lessons from his extensive career in leading schools 
 and from his book\,&nbsp\;Mike Kirst: An Uncommon Academic&nbsp\;on April 
 17\, 2-3 pm.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Drawing from his&nbsp\;half-a-century of worki
 ng on education&nbsp\;reform in California\, including with Mike Kirst and
  Jerry Brown\, Dick will speak on&nbsp\;practical and important lessons fo
 r the future of education. We will learn about public\, public charter\, a
 nd independent schools\, in general and in Montgomery County\, and discuss
  the future of education in America.</p>\n<p>Dick began his career more th
 an 50 years ago as a high school English teacher and Department Chair\, th
 en as an education policy researcher\, followed by a 30+ year career leadi
 ng independent and charter schools\, and finally as a biographer.&nbsp\;Di
 ck holds a doctorate and a master&rsquo\;s degree from Stanford University
  in education policy\; a master&rsquo\;s degree in linguistics from Ball S
 tate University\; and a bachelor&rsquo\;s degree in English from the Unive
 rsity of Missouri-St. Louis.&nbsp\;Jung is Head of School Emeritus\, The B
 ullis School\, founder and senior partner of Education Access Strategies (
 EAS) specializing in executive searches and related services for independe
 nt schools\, and the former Executive Director of The Association of Indep
 endent Schools of Greater Washington\, which includes more than 75 of the 
 largest private schools in the D.C area\, including Montgomery County. &nb
 sp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>This talk is co-sponsored with Bethesda Metro Area Vil
 lage and open to the public. There will be ample time for questions.&nbsp\
