logist Jeremy Verdusco helps you locate your ancestors in the newspapers t
hat documented their lives\, and offers strategies for getting the most of
the news clips you find.
This program centers on the presenter
&rsquo\;s third great-grandmother Jane\, who came to Carrollton\, Michigan
\, from Canada as a child (with a few stops in between)\, and died in Sagi
naw in 1934. It discusses how to build a research plan from common newspap
er items like obituaries\, and shows examples through records of Jane&rsqu
o\;s life.
Genealogist Jeremy Verdusco has done family research fo r more than 15 years. He belongs to the Association of Professional Geneal ogists (APG)\, as well as the group&rsquo\;s Great Lakes Chapter. He also serves as an at-large board member for the Michigan Genealogical Council a nd as editor for the group&rsquo\;s quarterly newsletter. He specializes i n Michigan research\, but has also researched families from New York\, Ohi o\, Kentucky\, Pennsylvania\, Ontario\, Canada and parts of Mexico.
