X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p><em>About the author:</em><br /><br /><str
ong>Dave Eifert</strong>&nbsp\;was one of the weird ones in engineering sc
hool who appreciated the lone pair of required liberal arts classes and th
e writing they involved. Decades later\, the frustration stemming from the
Cleveland Browns' performance in the mid-2010s drove him to channel his f
eelings into writing. Nine years on\, this effort culminated in his debut
 book\, titled&nbsp\;<strong><em>Cleveland Curse: Volume 1</em></strong>.&n
bsp\;</p>\n<p>Born and raised in upstate New York\, Dave and his father we
re the only Cleveland Football fans within a 200-mile radius. Since 1993\,
he has called the Cleveland area home. He has been fortunate to have the
support of his wife\, daughter\, and son\, who have patiently endured his
frequent outbursts during games and listened to him talk about this book f
 or way too long now.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><br /><strong><em>Cleveland C
urse: Volume 1</em></strong>\, is an entertaining allegory that offers an
intriguing explanation as to why the team and their fans have suffered suc
h devastating pain for all these years:&nbsp\;They are cursed.&nbsp\;</p>\
n<p>"Grandpa\, why do the Browns always lose?"&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>On De
cember 27\, 1964\, the Cleveland Browns football team embarrassed the Balt
imore Colts in the 32nd NFL Championship Game\, shutting them out 27-0. Li
ttle did fans know that it would mark the last time the Browns would win t
he Big Game. In fact\, the closest they have come since then was losing th
ree times to the Denver Broncos in 1986\, 1987\, and 1989\, due to a combi
nation of player mishaps and bad luck - or was something else at play?&nbs
p\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>The journey begins on December 26\, 1964\, when team ow
ner Art Modell meets a mysterious stranger smartly dressed in a suit and c
ashmere overcoat. The unexpected charlatan urges Modell to sign a contract
\, which promises a Browns victory in the Championship Game the following
day.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Is Modell making a deal with the Devil that would fore
 ver seal his team's\, and its fans\,' fate?<br /><br /><strong></strong></
